Facial Expression Warm-up

Character expressions are really important in cartooning. For my next groups of drawings, I want to focus on facial expressions.

To help myself, I wanted to take notes as I worked on these latest warm-ups. Things to reinforce myself such as : slow down, sculpt in solid forms, don’t draw lines but rather draw solid shapes.

I have been reminding myself to keep trying to loosen up my sketching. I have to remember that my pencil drawings are only intermediate steps toward producing  the finals inked drawings. The pencil drawings are only guides. The inking drawings are not tracing over the pencils, but actually new drawings where adjustments will be made.

Agile Bug

Also, I need to step back from my drawing board to get a better view, looking too close up often distorts your drawing perspective.
